About The Role 

Monash Health services a large cohort of both adult and paediatric patients diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. The centre of excellence for comprehensive medical services for those with common and uncommon respiratory disease. Is backed by a senior multiple disciplinary team.  The team provide support for this pivotal role, ensuring the complex needs of our community are met.  

  • Supports the Cystic Fibrosis leadership group, supervisors the post-graduate students on placement 

  • Develops, implements and evaluates clinical plans 

  • Supports staff and students managing complex patients 

  • Functions independently to assess and implement family interventions. 

 

About You 

You are experienced, energetic and determined in whatever role you have undertaken.  Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas: 

  • Psychological assessment, treatment, research and evaluation 

  • Supervision of staff and students 

  • Proven ability to function independently 

  • Previous experience in providing psychological services to children, adolescents and adults with a life limiting disease. 

You are highly motivated and thrive on the challenges of dealing with a community with chronic disease.  Naturally you have strong written and verbal communication skills, you are an active listener and possess well developed negotiation and influencing abilities that will be used in working with internal and external stakeholders.  Postgraduate qualifications in education and supervision are strongly preferred. 

 

What You Need: 

  • Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA) 

  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in clinical psychology or clinical neuropsychology in an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course 

  • Hold AHPRA endorsement in clinical or clinical neuropsychology 

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field of Psychology at a minimum P2 (or equivalent) level
