About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced clinical psychologist and educator to join an enthusiastic team on a two year fixed term contract, working in a fulfilling role in the field of psychology education in public health. The role offers the ability to get to know and work with psychology services across Monash Health developing and facilitating the rotating registrar rotations for our 2026 cohort of psychology registrars. Working together with the internal clinical education team to create a nurturing and growth environment for all our rotational registrars. In this role you will be required to:

Facilitate and co-ordinate the 2026 psychology mental health rotational registrar rotations in collaboration with the existing psychology clinical educators and other stakeholders,

Provide primary supervision for the 2026 cohort of psychology registrars ensuring relevant paperwork, and progress reports are completed,

Provide secondary and group supervision as needed

Work together with the clinical education team to provide seamless integration of the 2026 cohort of psychology registrars into the existing program through onboarding and orientation

Participate in the development, implementation, research and evaluation of psychology clinical education programs, professional development, the psychology registrar program, post-graduate psychology student placements, and other quality improvement initiatives across Monash Health

Assist the principal educator with the planning and development and management of clinical teaching and clinical education of all psychologists employed in the service
The Monash Health Psychology Clinical Education Team
Psychology Clinical Education assesses the training needs of the psychological workforce and provides effective education across all levels of competency. The team covers all aspects of having a successful and skillful career as a public health psychologist from student placements through to supervision training.

Providing supervision, support and guidance to psychologists completing their area of practice endorsement within the rotating registrar program

Being a valued part of a larger network of educators across all allied health

Meeting with stakeholders

Developing, planning and organising education for psychologists within Monash Health utilising up to date education theories and constructs
About You
You are an experienced, energetic and determined in whatever role you have undertaken. Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas:
-
Psychological assessment, treatment, research and evaluation in mental health
-
Supervision of psychologists, registrars and students
-
Development and coordination of programs including education and training of staff and post-graduate students; and
-
Administration, program development, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives
You are highly motivated and thrive on the challenge of supporting and developing staff and early career psychologists to perform at their best every day. Naturally you have strong written and verbal communication skills, you are an active listener and possess well developed negotiation and influencing abilities that will be used in working with internal and external stakeholders. Postgraduate qualifications in education and supervision are strongly preferred
What you need:
-
Minimum 8 years’ experience as a psychologist post general registration with proven significant clinical experience and knowledge

Current registration as a psychologist with AHPRA with area of practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology
-
Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) approved supervisor for Registrar Supervision (primary and secondary) and Higher Degree supervision
-
Completion or working towards a post graduate qualification in clinical education preferred
