Psychology Student Placement Co-ordinator - Psychology Clinical Education Team 0.6 FTE

 

Bring your love of meeting new people, identifying potential and developing relationships to our dynamic psychology education team.  If you are a senior psychologist and you like working pragmatically and get joy from when problems are solved collaboratively, and competencies or criteria are met, then we would encourage you to apply.  This is an opportunity to join an enthusiastic team, working in a job share arrangement in a fulfilling role in the field of psychology education. The role offers the ability to get to know and work with psychology services across Monash Health developing and facilitating placement opportunities for post graduate psychology students. Working together with the internal clinical education team to create a nurturing and growth environment for our next generation of psychologists.


In this role you will be required to:

 

  • Facilitate and oversee psychology student placements, working with multiple stakeholders,
  • Provide a streamlined experience for students and supervisors ensuring paperwork, onboarding, orientation and placement reviews are completed
  • Evaluate clinical placements and collect data to meet reporting requirements.
  • Provide support to students on placement which may include, on occasion, the provision of primary and/or secondary supervision.

 

The Monash Health Psychology Student Placement Program

 

Providing student placements in psychology is a well-established program which forms part of the overall clinical education team for all psychologists within Monash Health. It is a rewarding program allowing students to be exposed to psychology within a Public Health provider and to advance their practice.  It forms the foundation of career exploration and supported supervised experience for both the student and services.

  • Being a valued part of a larger network of educators across all allied health
  • Meeting with stakeholders
  • Liaising with tertiary education organisations
  • Developing, planning and organising education for mentors and supervisors

 

About You

 

You are passionate and motivated to work with student learners finishing their post graduate programs in Psychology. Your interpersonal style is warm, flexible but practical and you love helping find solutions.

 

Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas:

 

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and the capacity to engage and inspire others
  • A curious and open mind and growth mindset to learning
  • An ability to work with staff across all levels at Monash Health.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and develop trusting relationships.
  • Good data management skills and administrative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

What you need

 

  • Current General Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, including an area of endorsement
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field of Psychology at a minimum P2 (or equivalent) level
  • Hold supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) for Registrar Supervision (primary and secondary) and Higher Degree supervision
