About the Role

The RIS / PACS Administrator plays a critical role in the delivery, support and ongoing optimisation of Radiology Systems and Applications across Monash Health.

 

Working as part of the Monash Health Radiology team, you will provide high-level technical and application support for RIS, PACS and integrated radiology systems. This includes day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, system maintenance, upgrade participation and vendor collaboration.

 

You will also contribute to hardware maintenance planning for servers, diagnostic workstations, monitors and peripherals, assist with modality integrations, manage user access, and support business continuity planning. The role combines hands-on technical work with strong customer engagement in a fast-paced clinical environment.

 

This full time ongoing opportunity is primarily based at Monash Medical Centre (Clayton), supporting multiple hospital and outpatient sites and participates in a 24/7 on-call escalation roster. As a requirement of the role will be to travel and work at other Monash Health sites to meet operational requirements, a valid Victorian Drivers Licence is essential.

About You

You are someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology and clinical care. You may come from an IT background with an interest in healthcare systems, or from an imaging or radiology background looking to build or extend a career in Radiology Informatics.

 

You are customer-focused, calm under pressure, and motivated by solving complex technical problems that directly impact patient care. You enjoy working collaboratively with clinicians, IT teams and vendors, and you take pride in delivering reliable, safe and well-supported systems.

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Medical Imaging or equivalent industry experience in RIS / PACS administration
  • Demonstrated experience supporting healthcare IT systems in a clinical environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience with Windows Server and desktop operating systems
  • Exposure to virtualised environments (e.g. Hyper-V)
  • Experience installing and supporting IT peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors)
  • Understanding of incident, change and problem management frameworks
  • Ability to manage user access, profiles and security within clinical systems
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

 

In addition, ideally you will bring:

  • Experience working in a radiology department
  • Experience with RIS / PACS applications (particularly Philips RIS/PACS)
  • Experience delivering application training or user education
