The Fetal Diagnostic Unit at Monash Medical Centre provides specialist outpatient  care for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies and fetal abnormalities, delivering compassionate, evidence-based and woman-centred care.

 

 

About the Role

 Join our team as a Registered Midwife on an ongoing, part-time basis within the Fetal Diagnostic Unit at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. In this role, you will work under the leadership of the Maternity Management team alongside experienced midwives, sonographers, obstetricians and the broader multidisciplinary maternity team.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to care for women with complex pregnancies while working in a highly specialised clinical environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high-quality, woman-centred midwifery care.
  • Support women and families through complex fetal diagnostic pathways.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Provide education, support and advocacy throughout the pregnancy journey.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence.

 

 

About You

 To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and attributes:

 

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience working within an acute maternity service.
  • Proven clinical skills across maternity services, including Birth Suite and Pregnancy Clinic.
  • Level 3 FSEP Practitioner accreditation from a recognised Fetal Surveillance Education Program.
  • A genuine passion for supporting women and families experiencing fetal abnormalities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A positive attitude, commitment to woman-centred care and enthusiasm for ongoing professional development.
