About the Role  

As a casual bank Registered Midwife, you’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based care across the full continuum of maternity services — from pregnancy and intrapartum to postnatal care.

About Us  

The Monash Health Bureau (MHB) team is responsible for the Casual Bank and Nursing Permanent Pool and we support employees to work casually across the organisation. Monash Health Bureau casual bank includes nurses, midwives, support services, allied health and security employees.  Every day, we help allocate over 450 shifts across our locations in south-east Melbourne, including Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital, Victorian Heart Hospital, Kingston Centre, Cranbourne Centre, Cranbourne Community Hospital, and an extensive network of rehabilitation, aged care, community health and mental health facilities.

About You  

You are a dedicated Registered Midwife who thrives on supporting women and families through one of life’s most significant journeys. You combine strong clinical capability with warmth, empathy, and a commitment to safe, respectful care.  

You will bring:  

• Recent maternity experience, minimum of 12 months (antenatal, intrapartum and/or postnatal)  

• Strong teamwork and communication skills  

• A passion for woman-centred, culturally safe practice

What you need

All applicants must: 

• Have current Ahpra registration as a Registered Midwife  

• Meet the requirements contained in the Registered Midwife (RM) Grade 2 Position Description

• Complete online application AND the digital form 

• Complete probity checks: Reference check from current Midwife Manager and AMUM, Victorian Employee Working with Children Check, Right to Work in Australia  

• Commit to being available to work a minimum of (2) shifts per month, and accept shifts offered using the electronic allocation system  

Applicants must provide their preferred commencement date for casual employment, which must be no less than 4 weeks from the date of application.
