About the Role

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in a part time or full time fixed-term position working out of the Victorian Heart Hospital - Emergency Department in Clayton.

We guarantee that no two days will be the same.

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will provide exceptional, patient-centred care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, utilising your clinical expertise to assess, treat, and support patients experiencing acute illness or injury.

 

About Us

At the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH), Australia’s first dedicated cardiac hospital, we are committed to delivering world‑class, patient‑centred care within a high‑acuity environment. Our Cardiac Emergency Department is purpose‑built to respond rapidly and effectively to critically ill patients.

 Key Services:  

  • Emergency care for patients with primary presenting cardiac concerns.  

  • 25 bed capacity including 2 resus cubicles and 8 Short Stay Unit beds.   

  • Catchment area for all Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests in the Monash Health Hospital catchment area   

  • Emergency Department site for eCPR / ECMO.

About You

You are a proven Registered Nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to commit to team work and ongoing professional development that align with our programs, values and vision.

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Patient-centred, high quality care to individuals presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Be a role model and mentor, fostering collaboration and teamwork among like-minded colleagues
  • Excited to actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives to uphold and enhance best practice standards within the program

In addition:

  • Emergency Department experience is desirable
  • You are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHRPA)
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 hour roster
