About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Inpatient Unit on Ward 7A at Victorian Heart Hospital.

We have multiple Fixed-Term (to cover maternity leave) & On-Going opportunities available.

This position operates on a 24/7 rotating roster, including night duty.
We are seeking applicants who are committed to advancing their career in cardiac nursing and who wish to further strengthen their clinical expertise in this specialised field.
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based care to cardiac patients. You will contribute to maintaining high clinical standards, supporting effective ward operations, and ensuring excellent patient outcomes.
About Us:
The Victorian Heart Hospital is Australia’s first and only hospital dedicated exclusively to the care of acute, complex tertiary and quaternary cardiac patients. Our state-of-the-art facility houses ten cardiac catheter laboratories, five operating theatres, a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and a Cardiac Emergency Department.
We provide specialised cardiac services to a large local catchment and receive referrals from across Victoria for tertiary cardiac care. Ward 7A is a 32 bed Cardiac Inpatient Unit delivering high quality, patient centred care for individuals with cardiology, cardiothoracic, and heart failure conditions.
Our team of experienced clinicians works collaboratively to uphold excellence in cardiac care within a purpose-built clinical environment. We support professional and educational growth through structured development opportunities including the Graduate Nurse Program (GNP), Transition Into Cardiac Care (TICC) program, and postgraduate study pathways with Monash University, including the Master of Nursing Practice.
About You:
• Recent cardiac or cardiac surgical experience in acute and/or critical care (highly desirable).
• Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Critical Care or Cardiac Care (highly desirable).
• Commitment to contributing effectively within a high performing clinical team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster.
