About the Role:

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Registered Nurse who wish to progress their nursing career in Cardiac Care and enhancing their clinical knowledge in this field of Nursing. Work closely in supporting the team to ensure the provision of safe and effective care as well as assist with the efficient management of the ward on a shift basis.

  • Join our team as a Registered Nurse on a Fixed Term part- time (May 2025 – May 2026)  basis to work at Victorian Heart Hospital, Clayton

  • This is a rotating roster Monday to Sunday, all shifts, including Night Duty

 

About Us:

The Victorian Heart Hospital is Australia’s first hospital, dedicated to providing care for all acute, complex tertiary, and quaternary cardiac patients during their entire inpatient stay.  Ward 7B is a Cardiac Inpatient Unit that features a unique patient centred model of care and provides specialist nursing care for Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Heart Failure patients.   

As a member of the nursing team you are an integral part of a wider multidisciplinary team committed to providing excellent cardiac care in a state-of-the-art facility. Onsite there are ten cardiac cath labs, five operating theatres, Cardiac ICU, and a Cardiac ED that service a large local catchment area and receive referrals from other hospitals for tertiary care. 

Part of our commitment towards clinical excellence, we offer professional development pathways from Graduate Nurse Program (GNP), Transition Into Cardiac Care (TICC) course, and to Postgraduate studies and Master of Nursing Practice, via course / research work, in affiliation with Monash University. 

 

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Current Cardiac and Cardiac Surgical experience in acute and critical care areas are highly desirable 
  • Completion of Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Critical Care/Cardiac Care is highly desirable  
  • Strong desire to join a high performing team 
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills 
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
