The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) at the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH), offers an exciting opportunity to work in Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital.

 

About the Department

As part of Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service, our Cath Lab delivers cutting-edge, minimally invasive procedures including coronary angiography, angioplasty, structural heart interventions (TAVI, PFO/ASD closures), cardiac rhythm management (pacemakers, defibrillators), and electrophysiology studies.

 

About the Role

You’ll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of cardiac nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals committed to exceptional care and outstanding outcomes. Our nurses rotate through interventional and rhythm management labs, perform scrub/scout and anaesthetic support roles, and contribute to emergency on-call services.

 

There are full-time ongoing and 12 month temporary contracts on offer. Part-time hours potentially available for those with significant Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

 

About You

To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

  • A proven track record of delivering clinical excellence, ideally gained through experience in a similar role
  • Strong time management skills and can communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, patients, and stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical and problem solving skills to navigate complex situations and make sound decisions
  • A genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and are committed to developing your career over time

Mandatory requirements of the role:

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience in Cardiac Catheterisation & Interventional Laboratories specialty nursing is desirable
