About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital This role will suit a compassionate, patient-focused clinician who is committed to delivering exceptional care and achieving positive patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients within the Gastro Sciences ward, ensuring a patient-centred approach at all times

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and professional practice requirements

• Support a positive team culture through effective communication, participation in quality improvement activities, mentoring opportunities, and ongoing professional development.

• Monitor patients for clinical deterioration, promptly escalate concerns, and contribute to effective discharge planning and care coordination

You will bring:

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and eligibility to work as a Registered Nurse in Australia

• Recent acute nursing experience, ideally within gastroenterology, medical and/or surgical nursing, with demonstrated clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues.

• A strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster and a passion for ongoing professional development in a dynamic and supportive clinical environment.
