About the Department

Ward 33 is a 40-bed, fast-paced Upper GI surgical and Gastro Medicine ward that requires a registered nurse with surgical experience and who wants to further their nursing career.

 

We offer educational support with an experienced education team available Monday-Friday, in-house education sessions on all things Gastro Medicine and Upper GI surgery. 

About the Role

Join our team as a Registered Nurse on a full-time or Part-time basis to work at Monash Medical Centre based at Clayton. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Nurse Manager and working with the broader Nursing team.

  • Mixture of both acute surgical nursing and Gastro-med nursing.
  • Patient-centred provision of care to our cohort of patients
  • Role modelling and working within the team collaboratively
  • Participating in quality improvement across the program to support best practices

About You

To be successful in this RN role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

 

  • Recent acute surgical nursing is advantageous; however, not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, your nursing team and the wider MDT
  •  Effective time management skills and an enjoyment for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including NS.
  • Current APHRA registration
