About the Role 

Join our team as a Registered Nurse on a full time or part time basis, fixed term and Ongoing opportunities available to work at Monash Children's Hospital based at Clayton

As a Registered Nurse in Monash Newborn - NEST, you will play a crucial role in the care and support of premature and critically ill newborns. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients. You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with likeminded skilled senior staff and clinical mentors, while being supported by others across the program and across our large, complex health service.  

We work within a team model of care - and in practicing within this model, we provide our patients and their families, a consistency in their care provision and clear communication across their journey. We have fixed term and ongoing, full and part time opportunities across a 24 hour rotating roster. We offer within the first 2 years of employment, the opportunity to complete a Post Grad Certificate, or a pathway to Masters in Neonatal Intensive care.  

 

About Us 

Monash Newborn, situated in the Monash Children’s hospital, is a 64 bed medical and surgical neonatal unit, with a reputation for delivering outstanding family centred care to neonates. Monash Newborn operates as a single unit with 2 Nurse Managers who look after the daily operations and staff management across Sunbird and Kingfisher teams.  

 

About You 

You have been developing your clinical skills as a Registered Nurse within SCN or NICU, or are looking to move from an acute setting and growing your career, showing your commitment and passion for Family Centred Care. To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:  

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to practice independantly as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in neonatal nursing (preferred)  
  • Demonstrated Acute experience if not in Neonatal Nursing  
  • Evidence of, or a willingness to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care  
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills coupled with delivering holistic women and family centred care  
  • Flexibility and commitment to the operational needs of the program
