About the Role
Join our team as a Registered Nurse in a part time, fixed term basis working out of Monash Children’s Hospital - Paediatric Medical Inpatient Ward at Clayton.
We guarantee that no two days will be the same.
As a Registered Nurse in Aviary, you will provide exceptional, patient-centred care to children and their families in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, utilising your clinical expertise to assess, treat, and support young patients in our day stay unit.
About Us
Aviary Ward at Monash Health is our 28-bed unit dedicated to providing specialised care in adolescent medicine, paediatric rehabilitation, and neurology services. Our experienced multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care tailored to the unique needs of young people. We embrace a family-centred approach, recognising the important role families play in supporting recovery and wellbeing. Aviary offers a safe, supportive, and youth-friendly environment where patients feel respected, empowered, and well cared for throughout their healthcare journey.
About You
You are a proven Registered Nurse with Paediatric nursing experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to commit to team work and ongoing professional development that align with our programs, values and vision.
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Patient-centred, high quality care to individuals presenting to Aviary ward
- Be a role model and mentor, fostering collaboration and teamwork among like-minded colleagues
- Excited to actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives to uphold and enhance best practice standards within the program
In addition:
- Experience in Paediatric Surgical Nursing, particularly complex wound care is essential
- Experience in Specialist Consulting/Outpatient Nursing
- Leadership experience is essential
- You are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHRPA)
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check
