About the Role - Paediatric Specialist Consulting Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent fulltime Paediatric Specialist Consulting Clinic Nurse to join the Lagoon Ward to manage and care for patients requiring clinic care at Monash Children's Hospital. These include but are not limited to: Plastics, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cleft, ENT, Urology, General Medicine and Nitrous pathology Clinics. You will be a part of the Lagoon Nursing team and be supported to develop your clinical skills as required within a fun and encouraging environment.

About Us

Ward 3D Lagoon is a 28 bed busy and dynamic medical and surgical day ward caring for children of all disciplines at Monash Children's Hospital. Amongst this work we care for children in a nurse led and nurse procedure clinic to provide care not required as an inpatient. We are an ever growing service and continuing to develop new pathways to keep children at home and in day models of care.

The Specialist Consulting Clinics at Monash Childrens Hospital are also very busy services caring for children with both medical and surgical needs. All disciplines have a structured timetable of when nursing care is required to assist the multidisciplinary team in these clinic appointments. The position will be across a Monday to Friday working week, predominantly 0800-1630hrs but may require some later shifts as the role continues to develop. You will work closely between the two Units, supported also by a rotating nursing role within Lagoon.

About You

You are a nurse who is eager to continue to grow your career in Paediatrics and can work confidently in this autonomous role. You are experienced in both medical and surgical nursing care. You can demonstrate sound clinical judgement and are confident in your ability to work independently as required supporting the Multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a nurse who enjoys building a rapport with younger patients and their families, and who understand the importance of family centred care. Being such a busy role your time management and prioritisation skills will need to be top notch, and you will need to be able to confidently escalate care concerns as required.
