About the Role:

 

We are looking for Registered Nurse within Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetics/PACU to join us at Monash Children’s Hospital.  As someone who has strong interest, knowledge and expertise within the Paediatric perioperative nursing, you will work alongside a supportive team in providing patient centred care.

 

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in Monash Children’s Perioperative Services.

 

  • We have Part Time and full time positions available, Ongoing and Fixed Term Maternity Leave cover roles for 12 months.

  

You will work across Paediatric surgical specialities including orthopaedic, neuro surgery, general surgery, urology, plastics, dental, ENT, endoscopy and faciomaxilary surgery.

From admission of the patient, through the peri-operative phase to discharge, your compassionate nature will see you excel in these roles.

 

About Us:

 

Our Operating Suite is located at Monash Children's Hospital within a new purpose-built facility, featuring state of the art equipment within its four theatres & procedure room providing services to 4,000 patients a year!

 

Our main surgical specialties include, orthopaedics, neuro, plastics, general surgery, dental, urology, ENT and endoscopy.  We also support anaesthetics and PACU in off the floor areas such as MRI and the Children’s Cancer Centre. It is a fast-paced busy environment, where compassionate care for our young patients and their families is our number one priority.

 

About You:

We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in a Peri-operative, Anaesthetic or PACU or scrub/scout nursing background, or considering a change from another area of nursing to expand your knowledge and skills and be trained as a theatre nurse.

 

As someone with a strong work ethic, motivation and personal values your contribution with the team will support each other and our organisation to be leaders in our field with exciting and progressive treatment and care.

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

 

  • Proven and extensive clinical experience within Anaesthetics/Recovery and or Scrub/Scout nursing

  • Dedicated to safe best practice and quality care

  • Further studies; Post graduate qualifications to perioperative nursing and advanced nursing care (desirable)

  • Committed to delivering person-centred care and advocating for your Care recipients

  • Enthusiastic, compassionate and able to work collaboratively

  • Excited to be accountable for and managing specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Working with Children Check
