About the Role:

Join Ward 32 at Monash Medical Centre as a Registered Nurse and be part of our dedicated team!

We currently have multiple full- time and part-time available, with both ongoing and fixed-term positions available.  We work across a 24/7 rotating roster and have some potential for permanent night duty.

This really is a ward where you will never be bored, and where you will constantly be exposed to exciting nursing opportunities.  Headed up by a passionate and supportive Nurse Manager, and surrounded by a highly skilled and knowledgeable education team, on Ward 32 we are building a team of nurses who provide the highest level of nursing care to our varied patient group.  Collaborating with a large multidisciplinary team, your knowledge will continue to grow in this role, as you work your way up to caring for patients in our HANU. 

• We are the dedicated High Acuity Nursing Unit for Monash Medical Centre and you have exposure to DKA, refeeding, anti-arrhythmic, tracheotomies, infusion and overdose patients
• Our respiratory cohort will see you gain experience across COPD, CF, Asthma, Lung Cancer and Pleural Infusion patients allowing you to gain experience with non-invasive ventilation
• Housing the Telemetry beds for the whole of the Clayton site, you will be involved in monitoring patients who require some investigation
• Post thoracic surgical patients are also part of our cohort, and you will see those with pneumothorax and lobectomies and will become an expert with tubes and drains

Ward 32 has a varied and exciting clinical focus across several different areas:  

• HANU (High Acuity Nursing)
• Cardiac Telemetry monitoring
• Respiratory care
• Post thoracic surgical care

Our patient cohort consists of acutely unwell patients requiring high-quality patient-centred care.

  
About You

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with a keen interest in High Acuity Nursing, and you are looking to be part of a ward where you will receive the support to build your skills in this area of nursing.  You demonstrate sound clinical judgement and can confidently manage a deteriorating patient when you need, and time management is one of your strengths.  Working as part of a large multidisciplinary team, you are a nurse who communicates confidently and clearly and you are an advocate for your patients at all times. 

• You are someone who actively role models the Monash Health iCare values and are committed to excellence in all that you do
• You thrive in a busy team environment and understand the importance of collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• You relish working in an environment where you are surrounded by a supportive  and encouraging leadership team

• You are excited to continue your learning journey, as we support your ongoing development in the unit

What you need:

• Current AHPRA registration
• Recent RN experience, ideally in an acute setting
• HANU and/or Respiratory experience is highly regarded, but if you are looking to gain this, we are the place to be!
• Commitment to ongoing learning and to upholding the Monash Health iCare values
