About the Role:
Join our team on Ward 44 as a Registered Nurse in ongoing full or part time positions working at Monash Medical Centre across a 24/7 rotational roster. We currently have multiple positions available in the ward.
Ward 44 is the Haematology and Oncology unit at Monash Medical Centre and nurses on our ward care for patients undergoing treatment for cancer, along with some other specialties. You will be involved in the administration and management of patients who are receiving chemotherapy.
About Us:
Ward 44 is a 40 bedded unit whose main clinical focus is Haematology Oncology with a broader focus covering Dermatology, Endocrinology and Rheumatology. Our Ward is dedicated to delivering patient centred care at all times. It is a diverse and exciting area to work and we offer a supportive and friendly environment to our patients and staff alike and our primary focus is to deliver excellence in patient care in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, care givers and the wider community.
About You:
We are seeking nurses who have previous experience within Oncology/Haematology who are looking to join a ward where you will continue to develop your clinical nursing skills. You are a kind and empathetic nurse, who is committed to providing outstanding patient care each and every shift, and you role model the Monash iCare values. To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, your nursing team and the wider MDT
• Ability to recognise and respond accordingly to patient deterioration
• Effective time management skills and an enjoyment for working in a fast paced environment
• A strong focus on infection prevention
You require:
• Current AHPRA registration
• Chemotherapy certification is highly desirable for these roles
• Competency in CVAD is highly desirable for these roles
