About the Role
We are seeking applications from students currently completing an Undergraduate Nursing or Midwifery qualification who have successfully completed not less than 12 months of their course, to join our team as a Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing/Midwifery (RUSON/M). This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to patient care, and advance your professional development and clinical confidence. As a RUSON/M, you’ll work under the supervision of Nurses and Midwives within clearly defined role parameters, playing a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care. At Monash Health our RUSON/Ms are an integral part of the team whilst offering development of your nursing or midwifery career at Victorias largest public health service.
About You
To be eligible for 2026 RUSON/M positions, candidates must:

Be currently enrolled at a university to undertake undergraduate nursing or midwifery study, registered with AHPRA as a student nurse/midwife, and who at commencement, has successfully completed not less than 12 months of their course.

Have completed at least one clinical placement

Be able to provide a transcript showing successful completion of the first year of the qualification in which you are enrolled

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including building rapport with patients, colleagues and family members

Have the ability to work as a caring, pro-active team member who is motivated to learn and develop new skills
Students who will successfully complete their first year of an eligible course in 2025 and progress to second year in 2026 are encouraged to apply. Evidence of 2026 enrolment will be required prior to commencement.
