About the Role - Research Assistant, Clinical Trials 

 

Join our team as a Research Assistant in a Part Time (0.8 EFT), 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential to extend. This is an opportunity for an individual who is highly motivated and resourceful with well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills to join our specialised team!  

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join the Haematology Research Unit to effectively and efficiently manage the data relating to multiple studies active within the unit, following Good Clinical Practices as set out by the International Conference on Harmonisation and with approval from a Human Research Ethics Committee. The Research Assistant works closely with Clinical Trials Coordinators along with other members of the Haematology Research Unit. A strong collaboration between the unit, the trial sponsors, and Monash Health is required in planning, coordinating and implementing trials to ensure the best possible care for trial patients. 

  

You will be responsible for:  

 

  • Managing timeliness and accuracy of data entry for multiple active studies    

  • Maintaining patient databases for clinical haematology research unit  

  • Maintaining constant and effective communication with other research assistants, clinical trial coordinators, managers and investigators, as required  

  • Maintaining complete and accurate investigator site files  

  • Maintaining professional conduct at all times  

   

About Us  

 

Haematology Research at Monash Health is a large clinical trial unit which utilises the purpose-built Clinical Trial Centre within the Monash Health Translation Precinct to implement new and exciting clinical trial opportunities for our haematology patients. We are a vibrant and fast paced unit, and we are seeking a new team member to be the research assistant for several varied haematology clinical trials  

   

About You  

 

You have a high level of attention to detail, multitasking, prioritisation skills and communication skills, and an advanced level of empathy for both fellow colleagues and our patient population. You are motivated with a can-do attitude and strong work ethic. You enjoy working in a busy and fast-paced environment.    

  • Interest and / or experience in clinical research  

  • Someone with a nursing, medical, haematology, biomedicine or science background
