The Research & Innovation Team are recruiting a Research Quality Improvement Manager!
About the Department / Program
Research Support Services (RSS) is the central human research governance office for all human research projects conducted at Monash Health and its Monash Health Translation Precinct partners, including Monash Health Human Research Ethics Committees (MH HREC) and provides research support functions to develop Monash Health’s research capabilities and research profile.
RSS is responsible for the review, approval, monitoring and governance of Monash Health human ethics and research. RSS currently monitors around 800 new and 1800 ongoing projects each year. Monash Health also provides a HREC Review Only service to external organisations.
About the Role
The Manager Research Quality Improvement will lead the implementation of the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework, ensuring Monash Health’s research governance program meets with the requirements of the Framework, manage the Research Risk Register, manage the monitoring and auditing process and will be the key project officer supporting the Research Strategy and Governance Group.
This is a full time role Monday to Friday, with the requirement to work from other sites. There is the ability to undertake some remote work arrangements up to 2 days per week, dependent on the operational requirements of the team.
The Research Quality Improvement Manager is responsible for undertaking the following key functions:
- Management of the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework implementation
- Management of the Monash Health Research Risk Register and regular reporting to the to the Monash Health Research Strategy & Governance Group and Clinical Governance Council.
- Secretariat support to the Research Strategy and Governance Group.
- Management of the monitoring program, including progress reports, self-audits and audits.
- Management of the policies and procedures within the Research Strategy Program.
- Management of web updates
- Supervision of students on internship placements within Monash Health
About You
To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

experience in implementation of the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework
- experience in working in research governance in a health service environment
-
ability to manage competing deadlines
Mandatory requirements of the role:
-
Qualifications in Science (including combined degrees), Medicine, Medical Science, or health related.

Experience in the development of Quality Management and Accreditation systems, preferably in large health services.
