We are looking for a full time Risk and Corporate Governance Business Partner to join the team in hybrid work located at Monash Medical Centre. 

 

A Day in the Life: 

The Risk and Corporate Business Partner is a varied role working across the entirety of the organisation and the diversity of risks we face.  The role is a key contributor to improving the resilience of Monash Health to the breadth of risks we face as an organisation. As a key member of the Risk and Corporate Governance Team you’ll collaborate with stakeholders to implement and improve risk management, internal audit, and compliance across Monash Health. 

 

The role will include: 

  • Administering our internal audit work plan including supporting business areas to implement control improvements and monitor their progress 

  • Training, coaching, and providing risk management advice to clinical and non-clinical leaders 

  • Supporting the assessment of risks and providing guidance on appropriate treatment, including workshop facilitation and risk deep dives 

  • Developing Board reports to provide insights for decision making 

  • Facilitating the processes for some of our corporate governance controls such as the management of private interests/conflicts of interests, fraud, and delegation of authority 

The Risk and Corporate Governance Business Partner works closely with the Director of Risk and Corporate Governance, and the team sit in our Finance & Business Support service, a larger team committed to ensuring we provide safe and effective care to our patients.  We are a team passionate about learning and committed to continuous improvement. 

 

About You: 

You will be a naturally curious person interested in exploring a diverse range of risk areas from information technology, to clinical risk, to health & safety and beyond.  You don’t need to be a subject matter expert in the areas of risk we work in, but you do need to understand risk management and have a curious mindset.  You’ll be interested to ask follow up questions and probe to find out more.  You’ll be interested to continually learn and grow. You will also be someone who can bring structure and order to processes and systems, and support others to improve the way they work and the strength of their controls. 

You’ll be driven to make a difference for patients and our community, and always keep an eye on the greater good.  You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of fit-for-purpose health services and programs to the largest public health catchment in Victoria. 

You will have experience in risk management, internal audit or related disciplines and preferably have an understanding of the health sector or public sector. 

 

What you need: 

  • Relevant undergraduate tertiary qualification(s) in risk, audit, healthcare management, or related fields.   

  • Experience in a healthcare setting or public sector organisation is highly regarded.  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.  

  • Facilitation skills.  

  • Skills and ability to manage complex issues, problems and competing priorities. 

  • Competence with the MS Office suite, and preferably some experience with risk systems or data.
