About Monash Health Pathology Service    

Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne. All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to develop the Partnership and ensure we continue to provide high quality care for the patients across the health services. Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health. It is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 6 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional laboratories located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There are currently 23 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.    

  

Now Recruiting a Grade 1 Scientist in Biochemistry - Part Time Fixed Term 

We are seeking a highly motivated, organised, and driven Medical Scientist with experience in Biochemistry to join our busy, automated Biochemistry laboratory based at Clayton. This is a fixed-term 12-month parental leave backfill position, with the possibility of extension. The role requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week, with potential for additional hours depending on operational needs. You will be required to rotate through all sections of the laboratory which offers a 24 hour service. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the rotating roster working day, afternoon, night and weekend shifts and participate in on-call.

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:  

  • The ability to work in fast paced environment 

  • The ability to multitask and prioritise work loads 

  • Excellent communication skills  

  • High attention to detail  

  • flexible, adaptable can do attitude  

Mandatory requirements of the role:

  • Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification recognised by AIMS or AACB 

  • Experience in a diagnostic laboratory
