About Monash Health Pathology Service  

Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology network for metropolitan Melbourne. All roles in the Pathology Programs are working ensure and develop the Partnership across the Health Services to ensure we continue to provide high quality care for the patients across the health service.  

Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health. It is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 6 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional laboratories located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There is currently 18 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.  

   

About the Role  

We are advertising for a:  

  • Part Time Fixed Term 56 hrs f/n Haematology Scientist until 17 Jan 2027 

Part Time Fixed Term position exist for an experienced Medical Scientists Grade 1 within the Haematology Unit at the Clayton site. The laboratory offers a 24 hour service and the successful applicants will be required to participate in shift work and on call work. The positions involves day shifts, night shifts, evening shifts, and weekend/public holidays. The successful applicants will be expected to work in Routine Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Bank areas.  

Candidates with morphology training or experience in a routine haematology laboratory are desirable.  

  

About You  

You have a degree qualification in Science or Applied Science (MLS) or a recognised equivalent, along with knowledge and experience of the instrumentation and testing procedures needed for the haematology and transfusion. You have a strong understanding of quality systems and procedures and are committed to doing your best work every day.
