Lead medical physics and radiation safety across Victoria’s largest health service.
Monash Health is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist to provide advanced clinical physics services and act as the Deputy Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Working with minimal supervision, you will lead complex clinical activities, supervise and mentor physicists, and drive excellence in radiation safety, compliance, and quality across Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET.

About the Role:

Provide senior clinical imaging medical physics services across Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET.

Act as Deputy Radiation Safety Officer, supporting and relieving the RSO as required.

Lead dose optimisation, quality and safety initiatives, and compliance across multi-site services.

Supervise and mentor Grade 1–3 physicists (including TEAP registrars) and champion education/CPD.

Oversee procedure governance (incl. PROMPT), incident management and regulatory reporting.

Lead commissioning, acceptance testing and QC programme improvements in partnership with Chief Technologists.

Drive research/innovation aligned to service priorities and Monash Health values.
About You
You are an experienced clinical physicist with advanced expertise in diagnostic imaging and radiation safety. You bring strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor staff, supervise trainees, and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
You will have:

MSc or PhD in Medical Physics (ACPSEM-accredited or equivalent).

ACPSEM registration as a Qualified Medical Physics Specialist.

Eligibility for Victorian Radiation Use and Approved Testers licences.
-
Demonstrated experience in clinical imaging physics, radiation safety, QC, and dose optimisation.
