About the Role:

Join our team as Senior Dietitian - Nutrition Support and bring your extensive specialist clinical knowledge and skills to provide exceptional clinical leadership of nutrition support and the home enteral nutrition (HEN) service at Monash Health.

 

This Grade 4 Dietitian position is part time, 0.6 EFT 45.6 hours per fortnight, primarily based at Monash Medical Centre and will travel to work from all Monash Health sites as required.

 

The Senior Dietitian, Nutrition Support is a key leadership position based in Nutrition and Dietetics that services Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, Moorabbin Hospital and the Victorian Heart Hosptial.  In consultation with the Nutrition and Dietetics Manager, the Senior Dietitian - Nutrition Support collaborates with Senior Dietitians and stakeholders ensuring their influence and expertise, enhances nutrition care and improves patient experiences and outcomes across Monash Health.

 

You will

  • Deliver expert, evidence based, patient-centred nutrition care to adult inpatients, outpatient services and clinics  

  • Provide clinical leadership, advice and share expertise to develop others and advance professional practice related to nutrition support across Monash Health 

  • Liaise with Dietitians and Allied Health Administration to coordinate and continuously improve the Home Enteral Nutrition Service  

  • Drive innovation, quality improvement projects and translation of research to achieve service improvements that enhance patient experiences and outcomes 

  • Foster strong relationships with Senior Dietitians and Nutrition and Dietetics Managers to encourage a cohesive, united high performing team 

  • Establish effective relationships to collaborate with Nursing and Medical Education to enhance nutrition support practices across Monash Health 

  • Liaise with community-based services relevant to the patient population 

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

 

  • Advanced specialised knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of Nutrition and Dietetic services in Nutrition Support
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Engagement in reflective practice to support extensively specialised clinical care delivery
  • Experience in identifying need for change and leading others through this process, using extensive specialised knowledge
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe patient-centred care, providing extensive specialised knowledge as required
  • Advanced, contemporary leadership skills and experience skills in people management, conflict resolution and building and motivating teams
  • Extensive knowledge, leadership and experience in quality improvement, research processes and commitment to achieving best practice professional clinical standards
  • Experience in the professional development of others at undergraduate, professional, and postgraduate levels.
  • Advanced skills in organisation, time management, planning and priority setting
  • Leadership in creative and innovative approaches to problem solving for individual consumers and/or service delivery, using extensively specialised clinical skills or knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues showing flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic health service
  • Hold a Dietitians Australia accredited dietetics degree or hold a Dietitians Australia mutually recognised dietetics degree from New Zealand or have passed the Dietitians Dietetic Skills Recognition (DSR) process.
  • Be eligible for DA membership and Accredited practicing Dietitian (APD) status.
  • Hold or working towards a higher qualification (desirable).
