About Us
The Monash Health Digital Applications Department delivers and supports the use and development of Information and Communications Technology across Monash Health. Inclusive of Architectural governance and protocols.
The Digital Applications team works to maintain and improve the large ecosystem of different applications, platforms, products and interfaces across Monash Health.
About the Role
The Senior Solutions Architect –Applications & Data will provide strategic and technical leadership for clinical and enterprise applications and data projects, from concept to completion.
This role ensures that solution designs meet business and clinical requirements, add value for stakeholders, and comply with architecture standards and governance processes. The position blends deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Key result areas include:
- Architecture Leadership & Strategy:

Develop reference architectures for clinical and enterprise applications, data, and integrations aligned with Monash Health’s strategic priorities.

Create and maintain the Applications Inventory and define Applications Roadmap, incorporating business capability mapping to inform strategic decisions.

Solution Design & Delivery:

Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, clinicians, and delivery teams to define solution requirements.

Deliver conceptual and detailed solution designs (HLD/LLD) that align with business and clinical objectives.

Develop and maintain solution architecture artefacts from business case development to project execution and handover to operations.

Lead project artefact creation, maintenance, and inclusion in the organisation’s architecture repository.

Identify opportunities to leverage and reuse existing IT capabilities, services, and solutions where appropriate.

Conduct and deliver informed architecture risk assessments for all proposals and concept brief.

Support the ongoing Architecture development initiatives within Digital Applications to enhance and uplift the Architecture capabilities.

About You
Qualifications/Registrations/Skills/Experience:

Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field

10+ years of formal experience as a Senior Solution Architect, Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Consultant.

TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture framework
-
Previous experience in the healthcare sector, particularly with clinical data systems.
