About the Role 

Join our team as a Grade 3 Neuropsychologist and use your specialist expertise to make a meaningful difference to children and young people affected by cancer and its treatment. 

This unique role sits within the Long-Term Follow-up Program Clinic, providing specialist neuropsychological survivorship monitoring and consultation to children, young people and families as they navigate life beyond cancer treatment. 

Working within a highly specialised paediatric oncology and haematology multidisciplinary team, you will focus on the longer-term cognitive, emotional and behavioural impacts of childhood cancer and its treatment, while contributing to the ongoing development of survivorship care. 

Based at Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton, this is a permanent part-time position of 1 day per week, with Friday as the required day. There may also be opportunities to take on additional shifts as they become available. 

In this role, you will: 

• Deliver advanced paediatric neuropsychological care addressing the cognitive, emotional and behavioural impacts of cancer and its treatment. 

• Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to identify individual strengths and challenges, monitor developmental and cognitive change, and inform long-term care. 

• Translate complex assessment findings into clear, practical recommendations for children, young people, families, schools and treating teams. 

• Provide high-quality reports and timely feedback to families and relevant professionals. 

• Provide specialist consultation and contribute to clinical education, supervision, research and service improvement. 

• Collaborate across the broader MCCC multidisciplinary team to ensure neuropsychological needs are recognised and integrated into ongoing care. 

About You 

You’re an experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist who brings specialist expertise, curiosity and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people. 

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

• Experience in, or a strong interest in developing a career in, paediatric oncology and haematology, or experience working with young people living with serious health or medical conditions. 

• Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a registered psychologist at Grade 2 level or equivalent. 

• Board-approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia, or eligibility to undertake the appropriate training within six months of commencing the role. 

• Strong clinical assessment and formulation skills, with the ability to translate neuropsychological findings into meaningful and practical recommendations. 

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly when working with children, young people and families experiencing complex health challenges. 

• A collaborative approach and genuine commitment to multidisciplinary practice. 

• A passion for lifelong learning, evidence-based practice and contributing to service development and research.
