We are looking for an enthusiastic Simulation Technician for our simulation department at Monash Children’s Hospital.
About the Simulation Centre
The Monash Children's Hospital Simulation Service has been established to deliver quality simulation-based education to paediatric healthcare professionals and Monash University undergraduate students. The service exists in a state-of-the-art simulation education precinct within the Monash Children’s Hospital. It includes a surgical simulation centre, as well as a simulated paediatric clinical area for delivery of immersive simulation.
The Monash Children's Hospital Simulation Service operates over two floors at MCH. The Simulation education precinct has been established with the support of Monash University, and will allow for further development of multidisciplinary undergraduate simulation-based education, as well as opportunities for joint undergraduate and postgraduate simulation-based education. The surgical simulation centre is based within the theatre complex and is in close proximity to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. Within the surgical centre there is a fully operational operating room theatre, seminar room with links to the operating theatres, telehealth partners and also the simulation educational precinct.
Within the Surgical Simulation centre there are also two telehealth stations to allow telehealth and telementoring services for paediatric surgical patients in our rural partners in Gippsland and internationally. This is a novel service that is in the final stages of implementation for technology placement in our regional partner’s facilities. This builds on the established existing telehealth services at MCH which have successfully rapidly expanded since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Monash Children's Hospital Simulation Service has strong links to the well-established and highly regarded centre of Monash Simulation. Going forward, it is the desire of the Monash Children's Hospital Simulation Service and Monash Simulation to establish a collective mindfulness to learn from and with each other to develop, promote and expand a quality simulation service within Monash Health.
