Research Governance Officer, Facilitating Research at Monash Health

Do you have experience working in a research governance and would like to join a high performing team, committed to supporting researchers within the Monash Health Research Precinct?

We are looking for a Research Governance Officer for a 12-month fixed term appointment, whilst a team member undertakes a professional development opportunity in Research Support Services. We are a hard working and dedicated team, who support one another so we can provide a facilitative research environement for our research community.

 

About the Role

Research Support Services (RSS) is the central human research administration office for all human research projects conducted at Monash Health and its Monash Health Translation Precinct partners, including Monash Health Human Research Ethics Committees (MH HREC) and provides research support functions to develop Monash Health’s research capabilities and research profile.

RSS is responsible for the review, approval, monitoring and governance of Monash Health human ethics and research. RSS currently monitors around 500 new and 1750 ongoing human research projects each year.  Monash Health also provides a HREC Review Only service to external organisations.

The Research Governance Officer ensures the efficient and timely processing of applications from receipt through to final authorisation and maintains accurate records of each.  The Research Governance Officer will attend meetings as required by the Research Governance Manager and the Head, Research Operations.

 

About You:

  • Experience in Research Ethics & Governance
  • Working knowledge of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and ICH GCP.
  • Proven track record of working to deadlines.
  • Experience with the ERM Research Ethics Database.
