About the Role

 

The Grade 2 Social Worker role at Monash Medical Centre is a fixed-term, full-time position (until 27 September 2026). You'll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team culture while delivering exceptional care. In this role, you'll work across various specialties, including Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Vascular, and other areas as needed. The focus is on psychosocial assessments, complex discharge planning, bereavement support, and adjustment to illness.

 

You’ll manage a clinical caseload within designated areas, leveraging your psychosocial assessment and planning skills. You’ll need an understanding of systems like Family Violence, Child Protection, NDIS, and Mental Health Recovery. You’ll also contribute to quality improvement and research activities.

About You 

You are a qualified social worker with a Bachelor of Social Work or Master’s in Social Work (Qualifying). You’ll bring:

 

  • Specialist clinical skills in psychosocial assessments

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice

 

You’ll be working in a dynamic, supportive team that values collaboration, professional growth, and quality care for patients in inpatient and community settings.

 

What You Need:

  • Bachelor or Master’s in Social Work (Qualifying)
  • Eligibility for AASW membership (for overseas qualifications)
  • A current Victorian Driver’s License
