About the Role
 
An exciting opportunity is available for a Grade 2 Social Worker or Psychologist to join the Primary Prevention Program / Education and Training Team at SECASA. This is a part time (0.6 EFT), fixed term opportunity until June 2027.
 
 
Working under the guidance of the Primary Prevention / Education and Training Coordinator, you will play a key role in promoting respectful relationships, personal safety and the prevention of sexual assault and family violence across schools and community settings. This dynamic role involves designing, coordinating and delivering engaging education and training programs for:
 
  • Primary and secondary school students
  • Early learning centres
  • Parents and carers
  • Teachers and education staff
  • Community groups and professionals
 
You will work collaboratively with schools, community organisations and key stakeholders to deliver evidence-based, inclusive and age-appropriate programs that build awareness, support positive behaviour and contribute to safer communities. Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Delivering training and workshops on respectful relationships, personal safety and violence prevention
  • Facilitating specialist education sessions on sexual assault and family violence prevention
  • Developing and reviewing training resources and program materials
  • Coordinating education sessions and responding to stakeholder enquiries
  • Evaluating program effectiveness and incorporating participant feedback
  • Supporting community engagement and collaborative partnerships
  • Participating in research, evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities

The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), a program of Monash Health, provides specialist services to victim survivors of sexual assault and family violence, children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours, and the broader community through prevention, education and training initiatives.
 
SECASA delivers services across Melbourne’s south-eastern region, including Dandenong, Frankston, Cranbourne, Pakenham and surrounding areas. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to creating safer communities through evidence-based practice, advocacy, education and collaboration.

About You
 
You are an experienced and passionate Social Worker or Psychologist with strong facilitation and communication skills and a commitment to preventing gender-based violence. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
 
  • Relevant qualifications in Social Work or Psychology and eligibility for professional registration/membership
  • Experience delivering education, training or group facilitation programs
  • Knowledge of sexual assault, family violence and respectful relationships frameworks
  • Understanding of the societal drivers and impacts of gender-based violence
  • Ability to engage effectively with schools, community organisations and diverse audiences
  • Experience developing and reviewing education resources and training materials
