Software Developer – Digital Application Development

At Monash Health, our Digital Application Development team designs, develops and supports the systems that enable clinicians and staff to provide exceptional care to our community. We are seeking an experienced Software Developer who is passionate about creating innovative digital solutions that make a real-world difference.

This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly support healthcare delivery, patient outcomes and operational excellence across Victoria's largest public health service.

 

About the Role

As a Software Developer within the Digital Application Development team, you will play a key role in the design, development, enhancement and support of enterprise applications and integrations that underpin critical healthcare services.

Working in a collaborative environment alongside developers, analysts, architects, project managers and business stakeholders, you will develop modern, scalable and secure solutions that improve the experience of clinicians, patients and support services.

You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to testing, implementation and continuous improvement.

 

What You'll Be Doing

As a Software Developer within our Digital Application Development team, you'll work on the systems and solutions that support critical healthcare services across Monash Health. You'll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver innovative applications, integrations and digital capabilities that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining business-critical applications and digital solutions.
  • Building and supporting system integrations, APIs and data exchange interfaces.
  • Participating in solution design, code reviews, testing and deployment activities.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation and support materials.

 

You'll also play an important role in understanding stakeholder needs and translating them into practical technical solutions. As part of a collaborative Digital team, you'll contribute to application modernisation initiatives, support continuous improvement and help ensure solutions align with security, architecture and governance standards.
