About the Role 

Join our team as a Cardiac Sonographer Grade 3 at the Victorian Heart Hospital and contribute to life-changing cardiac care. As part of Australia’s largest dedicated cardiology department, we provide exceptional services to both adult and paediatric patients. 

The Cardiac Sonographer plays a crucial role in both our Adult and Paediatric Echo Cardiology programs. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Cardiac Sonographer Grade 3 who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based, patient and family-centred care while being supported in your professional growth. 

This is a Full-time or Part-time ongoing (1.0 EFT) opportunity, based at the Victorian Heart Hospital, with travel to other sites as required. 

  

About You 

As a skilled Cardiac Sonographer, you are committed to delivering high-quality echocardiography services in a supportive, team-oriented environment. To excel in this role, you will have the following: 

  • Full accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) (mandatory). 

  • Extensive experience post-completion of an ASAR-approved postgraduate course (mandatory). 

  • Paediatric echocardiography experience is highly desirable and will be highly regarded. 

  • Excellent Time Management skills when performing scans and producing Interim Reports in the appropriate time frames 

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement abilities to collaborate with hospital staff, referrers, agencies, patients, and families. 

  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team, demonstrating a high standard of clinical reasoning in echocardiography. 

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.
