About The Role:

We’re looking for a passionate Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to join our supportive team across Monash Health Community sites.

 

We have the following positions available:

  • 0.4 EFT (30.4 hours per fortnight) – Part-time ongoing
  • 0.42 EFT (32 hours per fortnight) – Part-time fixed-term until November 2026, parental leave cover 

 

We also welcome applications from candidates who would like to combine both positions into a 0.8 EFT role (until November 2026, then 0.4 EFT ongoing) and enjoy a broader scope of practice within our team.

 

In this role, you’ll provide best-practice, evidence-based care through face-to-face and/or Telehealth assessments and interventions for patients admitted to the service. You’ll work collaboratively with a supportive multidisciplinary team to ensure effective and compassionate care aligned with Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.

 

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing high standard assessment, intervention, and coordination of services, aids, and equipment to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care
  • Contributing to the planning, development, and evaluation of evidence-based Speech Pathology services
  • Lead group programs like Aphasia and Communication Groups, where you’ll create an inclusive space for clients to practice and improve their communication skills 
  • Working collaboratively within an interprofessional team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Building strong partnerships across Monash Health and with external stakeholders, alongside the Senior Clinician Speech Pathologist, Allied Health and Psychology Manager, Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinators and other team members
  • Taking responsibility for relevant administrative portfolios as directed
  • Providing clinical supervision and support to students and/or Allied Health Assistants

 

You’ll enjoy the support of a dynamic and experienced allied health team, working within business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm).

Monash at Home - Aged and Rehabilitation Care (ARC) brings high-quality, multidisciplinary care directly to patients in their own homes. Our team of Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Pharmacy, Psychology, and Administration staff supports individuals with complex medical, functional, and cognitive needs. Our 40-bed service provides daily nursing visits, allied health and medical consultations (face-to-face or via Telehealth), and 24-hour telephone support. We are committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care that enhances quality of life within the Monash Health catchment.

 

 

About You: 

You’re passionate about supporting older people live well at home and in their communities. You bring a collaborative, organised approach and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care - always with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect.

 

To thrive in this role, you will bring the following:

  • A genuine passion and interest in working with patients within a home environment, combined with proven experience and effective assessment and intervention skills
  • Experience working within a healthcare setting
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively and readily build strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the delivery of client centred care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

Mandatory requirements of the role:

  • A recognised degree in Speech Pathology (Bachelor or Master level), including overseas qualifications assessed by Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) within the past two years
  • Eligible for membership as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with SPA 
  • Current and Satisfactory Aged Care Clearance (Police Check/Aged Care Worker Screen) 
  • Current and Satisfactory NDIS workers check and NDIS worker orientation certificate of completion 
  • No current Aged Care Banning Orders in place (as per Register of Banning Orders) 
  • Registered with State-Wide Equipment Program 
  • Demonstrated recent experience as a Speech Pathologist with at least 4 years of clinical experience
  • Valid Australian Driver's licence
