About the Role: 

Join our team as a Grade 3 paediatric Speech Pathologist on a part-time fixed-term (0.40 EFT / 30.4 hours per fortnight) basis until March 2027, based at Monash Children’s Hospital in Cleft and Outpatient services.  

 

In this position you will lead and provide clinical services to the cleft and craniofacial service at Monash Children’s Hospital. With the support of the profession lead, this role also includes the coordination of the Monash Children's Hospital speech pathology outpatient service (including feeding, dysphagia and allergy clinics). You will require high level skills in the assessment and management of children with cleft and craniofacial anomalies.   

You will form part of a dynamic, evidence-based MDT team and will be involved in service development and quality improvement projects to support high quality clinical care. There are opportunities for teaching and involvement in research in this fast paced role in a hospital setting where speech pathology is highly valued. Being supported by a large, dynamic team, including direct clinical supervision with a Grade 4 speech pathologist.

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation & Oncology.   Allied Health at Monash Children’s Hospital provides specialised services to paediatric patients across the continuum including inpatients, outpatients and via Hospital in the Home. 

 

About You:  

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • Relevant speech pathology qualification  

  • Eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia  

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in paediatrics and/or hospital based speech pathology 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in the paediatric setting  

  • Extensive experience in teaching and training  

  • Experience in service development/quality improvement and research  

  • Paediatric and infant feeding competency (desirable) 

  • Extensive experience in the assessment and management of patients with cleft and cranio-facial anomalies
