About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our acute general medicine team at Monash Medical Centre on a full-time, fixed-term basis (parental leave cover) until March 2027.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Grade 3 clinician ready to step into a leadership role. You’ll bring a strong patient-centred approach, thrive in a collaborative environment, and contribute positively to team culture and clinical excellence.

 

The role includes active involvement in quality activities and clinical education. Demonstrated competency in Videofluoroscopy and Tracheostomy management is essential, with FEES competency highly regarded.

 

You’ll work alongside a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care aligned with our Strategic Guiding Principles.

 

 

About Us:

Speech Pathology at Monash Health covers the continuum and the life span. We have a large bed based department across six hospital sites; Monash Medical Centre, the Victorian Heart Hospital, Kingston Centre, Dandenong, Moorabbin and Casey hospitals and teams of speech pathologists in community health, community rehabilitation, clinics and mental health programs.

 

 

About You:

To thrive in this role you will bring the following:

  • A team approach and ability to lead by example
  • A flexible mindset and willingness to work in different areas as required 
  • Ability to supervise junior staff and students and contribute to peer-based learning 
  • Experience in quality and research initiatives 
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice care 
  • Your strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), Bachelor of Health Science (Speech Pathology), Master of Speech Pathology or recognised equivalent (including overseas qualifications assessed by Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) within the past two years 
  • Eligible for membership as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with SPA  
  • Valid Australian Driver's licence
