About the Role:
Monash Health’s Child and Family Program is looking for experienced and dynamic paediatric Allied Health Clinician at a Grade 2 level to join our School Readiness Team. We have several positions available (fulltime or parttime) and we will consider those with Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology qualifications.

The Clinician will work with kindergarten educators and families in their communities to build capacity to support young children’s learning in the areas of communication (speech, language and communication development), motor skills (fine and gross motor development) and wellbeing (social and emotional development and regulation). You will enhance the professional and parenting practices of educators and families – using evidence-based practice. You’ll work in collaboration with educators and families to build their capability to create an environment for kindergarten aged children that promotes:
- improved speech, language, social interaction and early literacy outcomes
- self-regulation and positive and pro-social behaviours
- Social and emotional wellbeing and mastery of everyday tasks
About Us:
The School Readiness team are an integral part of the Child and Family program that is an exciting initiative at Monash Health that provides kindergartens with access to quality programs and supports to help children get the most out of their early learning. Kindergartens within Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia areas receive school readiness funding, with access to allied health being one of a number of supports available to kindergartens. Through the funding, kindergartens with large numbers of educationally disadvantaged children will receive increased allied health support.
The wider multi-disciplinary team is comprised of numerous disciplines that focus on assessment and Child and Family focused care. The program consists of Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dieticians, Podiatrists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Community Development Workers AHA'S and Family Support Workers. We are committed to working with communities, families and individuals who have poor health outcomes and to providing high quality, multidisciplinary programs which embrace child and family centred practice, evidence-based practice, and the Social Model of Health.
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Appropriate graduate qualification in a relevant field as outlined in the position description documentation
- Experience in providing clinical paediatric services
- Demonstrated skill in supervision and promoting the growth and development of staff
- Work collaboratively with kindergartens and DET area staff across Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia area to plan for how they will utilise their allied health entitlement
- Build the capability of educators and families to support children through coaching, modelling, group training, case consultation support and other discipline specific services
- Provide child focused psychology, occupational therapy, and speech pathology support to kindergartens and to families and communities.
- You’ll hold a valid drivers licence to travel to kindergartens within Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia area
