About the Role

The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) supports Monash Health to achieve the outcomes of its corporate strategy through the successful delivery of strategic projects (including infrastructure projects) and programs across the organisation. 

The EPMO will establish a robust enterprise project management framework to standardise the project methodology and governance arrangements across project tiers, and a system to improve the transparency, visibility and accountability of projects, end-to-end.   

The System Manager, EPMO role is responsible for supporting the Director, EPMO to establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, and best practices to drive project success and alignment with Monash Health's strategic goals.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Director, EPMO to develop an enterprise project management framework (EPMF) and enterprise project management system (EPMS) to improve visibility, accountability and transparency of projects, throughout the project lifecycle and into BAU.
  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of the EPMF, ensuring it meets visibility expectations.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders by understanding their needs, expectations, and concerns.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, facilitating input and understanding of the system through its development and implementation, to ensure development aligns with expectations. 
  • Facilitate and/or develop, document and maintain frameworks and project templates to support the introduction of the project management system, building on existing collateral where appropriate. 
  • Create standardised processes, procedures and methodologies to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects, and the project management system.
  • Lead change management activities to support the smooth transition to a project management system.
  • Monitor system performance and impact on project quality and implement corrective actions to address any issues or risks.
  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized project reporting across Monash Health, ensuring timely and accurate updates on project progress, risks, and issues for senior stakeholders, and supporting decision making.
  • Provide regular performance and alignment updates.
  • Ensure the frameworks, templates and system generated reports meet Monash Health's governance standards and timelines, and lead Board-level report preparation, highlighting risks, milestones, and key decisions.
  • Monitor and review project frameworks regularly to incorporate best practices and lessons learned and maintain the benefits realisation framework. 

Developed in collaboration with senior leadership, and building on existing good practice, this systematic approach will drive portfolio management, standardisation, and project execution excellence across the organisation ensuring Monash Health's position as a leading public health service in Victoria.
