About the Role 
 
We are seeking a full-time, ongoing Team Leader to join SECASA’s Children, Young People and Families / Harmful Sexual Behaviour team, working across multiple Monash Health sites.
 
In this leadership role, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational delivery of the service, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children, young people and families affected by sexual harm and family violence. You will lead and support a multidisciplinary team, embed best-practice trauma-informed models of care, and contribute to achieving service targets in line with SECASA’s strategic and funding requirements.
 
This role requires strong collaborative leadership, clear communication, and the ability to guide and support clinicians working with complex trauma to achieve positive client outcomes.
 
Our Journey 
 
The South East Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), is a program of Monash Health and has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing (DFFH) for: 
 
  • The provision and development of effective services to victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence. 
  • The provision of assessment and treatment for children and young people who have displayed in harmful sexual behaviour. 
  • The provision of public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues 
  • Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence. 
 
About You 
 
You will bring demonstrated clinical experience responding to complex trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence, with strong skills in crisis intervention and multidisciplinary collaboration. You are committed to ongoing professional development and applying evidence-based therapeutic modalities in practice, and are motivated to support children, young people and families through effective, compassionate leadership.
 
Social Work
 
  • AASW-accredited Social Work qualification with eligibility for AASW membership (including overseas qualifications)
  • Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant field desirable
 
Psychology
 
  • General registration with AHPRA (Psychology Board of Australia)
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-registration experience
  • Supervisor endorsement (or working towards) desirable
  • APAC-accredited postgraduate qualification (Masters or Doctorate)
  • Evidence of clinical research involvement
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant field desirable
