At Monash Health, our Support Services team plays a crucial role in both clinical and non-clinical areas, ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.
Monash Health has 7 operating theatre suites across 6 sites and caters for a wide range of surgical specialties. Our team members work across various sites and departments, providing essential services that directly impact patient care and overall hospital efficiency.
A Day in the Life
Theatre technicians are a vital part of the operating team and depending on the level of competency and experience you will be required to complete the following duties:
- Transporting patients to and from the operating room.
- Positioning and preparation of patients for surgery.
- Setting up each operating theatre with specialty/surgery specific equipment.
- Ensuring all equipment is functioning and correctly maintained.
- Cleaning of equipment in accordance with Monash Health and manufacturers guidelines.
About You
As a Monash Health employee you are required to be:
- Self-motivated and proactive with a focus on delivery of high patient centred care.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team plus can work autonomously without supervision.
- Ability to fulfil all the physical criteria of the position by demonstrating effective moving and positioning skills as directed by Monash Health policy and procedures.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable within an acute clinical setting.
- Ability to support new employee training and mentoring as required.
What you need
As a Monash Health employee you should have successfully completed the following:
- Certificate III or IV in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support).
- Relevant visa with full working rights.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License.
