Theatre Technician – Grade 4-5 - Cranbourne Day Surgery Unit
- Permanent Full time position with ADO - 80 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster

NO on call, NO Weekends, NO night-duty
About the Role
Cranbourne Day Surgery is a two theatre complex with supporting Day Surgery and Sterilising Services. It is part of Monash Health and is situated in the growth corridor of South East Melbourne. The unit provides exceptional patient centred care under the current surgical specialities; Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Colorectal and Gynaecology. Working as part of the team at Cranbourne Day Surgery you will be integral in providing high quality services to our patients. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced theatre technician to join a well-established and highly functioning team. The Theatre Technician is responsible for:

Patient transport to/from the operating theatre,

Positioning and preparation of the patient for surgery under the direction of the medical staff and registered nurse,

Setting up the operating theatre with the speciality/ surgery specific equipment and ensuring all equipment is functioning and correctly maintained,

Cleaning and maintenance of equipment in accordance with Monash Health and manufacturers guidelines,
-
Undertaking other duties as required and as delegated by the theatre team.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support or equivalent,
-
Have a minimum of thirty six (36) months experience (full time equivalent) as a Theatre Technician with prior Ophthalmology exposure desirable,
-
Works with a high degree of autonomy and accountability,
-
Ability to work in all areas of the department autonomously without instruction (specialities include Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, General Surgery & Colorectal Surgery),

Basic computer skills, Outlook, Word,
-
Effective and strong interpersonal and communication skills ,
-
Able to assist with training and mentoring when required.
