Monash Health Volunteer Services is seeking a dynamic, engaging individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in volunteers to join Monash Health Consumer Partnerships and Volunteer Services within our Patient Experience Office.

About Volunteer Services

 

Monash Health has a long history of engaging volunteer services with our focus is to positively enhance the experience of patients, families and visitors to our organisation. Our volunteer cohort is varied in age, ethnicity and experience. The Volunteer Services team work together to support consistency of practice and experience for volunteers across the organisation. We are continuously seeking to improve the volunteer experience, their valuable contribution to patients and operational systems.   Volunteer Services works within the Consumer Partnerships team and under the umbrella of the Patient Experience Office where we champion and elevate the voices of consumers and create inclusive, safe and compassionate patient experiences. 

 

About the role

 

The purpose of Volunteer Services Coordinator role is to support the Manager Consumer Partnerships and Volunteer Services to coordinate and administer Volunteer Services, Consumer Partnerships and the Visiting Volunteer Program at Monash Health. The role will include

 

  • Project managing key events and communications
  • Managing our Better Impact data base in particular new volunteer applications (intake folder)
  • Supporting Consumer Partnerships and Volunteer Services promotional activities
  • Managing the onboarding of Volunteers within the Visiting Volunteer Program
  • Managing the onboarding and rostering of pet therapy services
  • Administrative duties including stationary ordering, minute taking and managing the volunteer email folder
  • Assisting with the Monash Health Consumer Advisor Program

 

We have a 0.6 EFT permanent part time position to fill. The role works across Monash Health sites and is currently based at Monash Medical Centre (Clayton) and supports Visiting Volunteer Programs at Monash Children's Hospital and Pet Therapy Services across Monash Health.

 

About you

 

The successful candidate will work with a team of volunteer coordinators and consumer partnerships staff, operationally responsible for Monash Health Volunteer and consumer partnerships Services and for ensuring service accountability against relevant policy and procedure, accreditation and quality standards and best practice guidelines.

 

The successful candidate will exhibit a high level of professionalism and exceptional interpersonal skills, with an ability to build relationships that value, motivate, support and engage volunteers and other stakeholders and contribute to positive workplace culture.  The successful candidate will also demonstrate

 

  • an ability to work independently in accordance with targets and timelines,
  • experience in database management (Better Impact knowledge desirable), analysis and office management systems,
  • project or event management experience

 

Previous Consumer Partnerships experience, volunteer coordinator experience or experience in working with volunteers would be desirable.
