Instrument Technician – Central Sterilising Service, Cranbourne Community Hospital
About Us
The Central Sterilising Services department (CSSD) at Cranbourne Community Hospital is planned to open in October 2025. Located 6 Lehman Lane, Cranbourne this purpose built department supports reprocessing of RMDs for a busy 6 theatre operating suite as well as a high volume outpatient dental service. The theatres specialise in Ophthalmology surgery, Gynaecology, Colorectal and General Surgery.
Instrument Technicians at Cranbourne Community Hospital CSSD are rostered Monday – Sunday (TBC), 8 hour shifts on a rotating basis.
About the Role

Permanent Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.

Instrument Technician Grade 2-4.
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to join our Central Sterilising Services Department. Experience is preferred but not a requirement for this role and the right person will be offered an opportunity to develop. With onsite Grade 5 Instrument Technician support on every shift, you will report directly to the Nurse Manager - Cranbourne Day Surgery and Sterilising Service.
About You
The successful candidate will:

Hold a minimum of a Certificate III in Health-Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent

Have a working knowledge of AS/NZ:5369 and be willing to develop this knowledge further

Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and work well in a team environment
-
Be highly organised and motivated with the ability to multitask in a busy workplace
-
Have attention to detail and the ability to prioritise.
For Grade 2
-
Certificate III in Health-Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent and less than 12 months experience
For Grade 3
-
Certificate III in Health-Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent and greater than 12 months experience (full time equivalent)
For Grade 4
-
Have a Certificate IV in Sterilising Services and minimum of 3 years’ experience (full time equivalent) as an Instrument Technician in a hospital setting.
