About Monash Health in the Community 

We are seeking a passionate team member to join our community mental health team based in Cranbourne. Our opening is for a Grade 2 or 3 Psychologist. 3 days per week 8:30am to 5:00pm.  

Monash Health mental health program actively engage with people to improve and maintain health, independence and well-being. We do this by coordinating and/or providing integrated, multidisciplinary care across multiple settings within the local community. Our aim is to help clients live their best lives by enabling them to access the support they need, when they need it.

What you need to know about the service: 

Our Community Mental Health team works as a multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment and support to individuals experiencing complex mental health problems. We strive to deliver high quality recovery-focussed client care. Our aim is to promote self-efficacy and independence, and social inclusion with all the individuals we support. 

Working in our diverse geographical area, you will enjoy the challenges of working with the complexities of mental health and making a positive difference every day. You will work closely with the range of mental health services including inpatient units, CATT, CCU and PARCS to ensure psychological treatment is coordinated with overall treatment goals. 

  

About You 

You are energetic and determined and have performed above expectations in your previous roles as a psychologist. You communicate effectively, both written and verbally. Your ideas to improve service delivery are always welcomed as our team is progressive with many research and quality improvement activities. As a dedicated psychologist in public health you care about patients and deliver quality psychological services. Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas: 

  • Provide psychological assessments and treatment of complex patient issues and produce high quality reports. 

  • Contribute to patient risk management plans in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teams 

  • Secondary consultation and supervision of staff and students (if Grade 3) 

  • Engage in quality processes of continuous improvement, and research initiatives 

  • Self-driven 

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, you are an active listener and possess well developed negotiation and influencing abilities that will be used in working with patients, and internal and external stakeholders. 

What you need: 

  • Current general registration as a psychologist with AHPRA 

  • Working with Children’s Check 

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications in Clinical, Forensic or Clinical Neuropsychology (for Grade 3 applicants) 

  • AHPRA registration to supervise higher degree students and Psychology Registrars (for Grade 3 applicants) 

  • Proven significant clinical experience
