About Us

Emergency Department, Dandenong Hospital  

The Emergency Department (ED) Dandenong Hospital is responsible for approximately 70,000 emergency presentations annually and is a mixed ED seeing both adults and paediatrics. The department has 20 short stay and 35 mains cubicles and our four resuscitation cubicles, decontamination facilities and two isolation rooms. There are also dedicated facilities for patients with mental health needs and a 20 bed adult Short Stay Unit. 

 

About the Role

We are a dedicated team providing vital administrative support to the Emergency Department at Dandenong Hospital. We work closely with medical professionals to streamline processes and support high-quality patient care.
Efficiency, attention to detail, and confidentiality are critical to the role we undertake.
By handling the behind-the-scenes operations, we help create a smooth and organised environment for both staff and patients.

 

Join our team as an Emergency Department Administration Officer at Dandenong Hospital. We have various positions available, both part time and fixed term opportunities.

About You

You’ll thrive on the challenge that comes from working in a fast-paced setting, knowing you are well supported by highly skilled Nursing, Medical, Allied Health and Administrative teams. 

 

You are a genuinely passionate and caring person who is highly committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a clear communicator you can build rapport easily with others and work well within a team. You are a proactive, experienced healthcare administrator who can work effectively in an autonomous role, and prioritising workloads comes naturally to you. 

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

 

·         Administrative skills including excellent computer skills. 

·         Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. 

·         Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures in other departments e.g. Outpatients, Wards, Theatre, Medical Records and Admissions.  Medical terminology (desirable). 

·         Ability to work as part of a team and individually. 

·         Use of office equipment.
