About the Role  

Join our team as the Chief Medical Imaging Technologist at Dandenong Hospital on a full time basis. In this important role, you will work closely with other Monash Health Imaging Chief MITs, Nurse Managers, radiologists, and the broader Operational Leadership team. Your specific responsibilities will include:  

  • Professional development of your team of Medical Imaging Technologists 

  • Develop, implement, and report on strategies to increase efficiency and financial sustainability 

  • Meet and report on operational KPIs, including those measuring imaging turn-around times 

  • Present innovative ideas designed to improve patient outcomes 

 

About Us

Monash Health Imaging incorporates services at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton; Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton; Victorian Heart Hospital, Clayton, Dandenong Hospital, Dandenong; Casey Hospital, Berwick; Moorabbin Hospital, Pakenham Health Centre and Kingston Centre, Cheltenham. The service provides over 400,000 imaging examinations per year across all sites. The Service currently employs approximately 580 EFT and has a gross operating budget more than $100M.  Monash Health Imaging clearly defines its purpose as the delivery of leading edge, evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services, research and education that meets the needs of our community. The large number of publications, research, and beta agreements currently in place evidence this.  

 

About You 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:  

  • Extensive experience in leadership positions within the Medical Imaging field  

  • Extensive experience in recruitment, people and performance management, and industrial relations  

  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements as they relate to the medical imaging profession and diagnostic imaging facilities 

On a personal level, you will demonstrate:  

  • Advanced stakeholder engagement experience and experience leading others through change 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills  

  • Advanced skills in organisation, time management, planning and priority setting  

Mandatory requirements of the role:   

  • Current registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia 

  • Current Victorian Radiation Use Licence  

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications desirable
