About Clinical Coding
Clinical coding involves reviewing patient health records and assigning alpha numeric codes to accurately reflect clinical documentation.
About the Clinical Coding Assistant role:

Position: Part Time (up to 22 hours per week, Mon-Fri)
-
Work Environment: Hybrid, with onsite days at Dandenong Hospital.
As a Coding Assistant, you’ll be part of a team of 4 coding assistants, working collaboratively to support the Clinical Coding team and ensure the timely availability of complete patient health information.
You’ll be responsible for:

Identifying and following up on missing documentation

Managing e-documentation queries
-
Completing data reporting requirements in line with these tasks

Assisting with other administrative tasks that will help streamline workflows and make the clinical coders’ work more efficient
This position will require an understanding of hybrid health record systems and proficiency in Monash Health’s electronic systems. A keen eye for accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential. Some travel to other Monash Health sites may be required.

Has prior administrative experience with a keen eye for detail

Is proficient in the Microsoft 365 Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams

Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Has experience in the health industry and a basic understanding of medical terminology (preferred)
