Our Journey   

To provide quality clinical placements in a supportive learning environment for our undergraduate nursing students. We are seeking an experienced nurse to join the team as a Clinical Support Nurse.   

  • Part tme, permanent position working 3 days per week  

  • Based primarily at Dandenong Hospital 

 

A Day in the Life of a Clinical Support Nurse 

This is a key role in supporting the growth and development of our undergraduate students on their nursing placements.  The Clinical Support Nurse provides education and training to advance students clinical competency to enhance the care they provide to patients. You’ll be supported by our Nursing and Midwifery Education and Strategy (NaMES) team, working alongside other passionate clinical education colleagues. The Clinical Support Nurse is able to use their clinical expertise to teach and supervise students to provide best practice standards.  As you would expect, the Clinical Supprt Nurse should have a sound understanding of clinical assessment and advanced nursing practice, plus insight into different learning and teaching styles. The role demands clear and positive communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with all stakeholders.  This position is able to offer you great job satisfaction and also offers doors to later possibilities. About You   

You are a highly skilled nurse with acute care experience and a passion for education. Current or recent experience working in high acutiy settings such at Intensive Care Units or Emergency Deparments will also be highly regarded. You have well-developed engagement, communication and collaboration skills.  You have experience in supporting learners and you can demonstrate the following;  

  • commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills   

  • ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team   

  • ability to show initiative and work independently when required   

  • ability to demonstrate acute nursing knowledge and skills 

  • committed to a leadership & mentoring role   

  • dedicated to the provision of quality care and best practice standards   

  • enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively   

  • excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence
