About the role:
Working as part of the Food Services team at Dandenong Hospital, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health. The Food Service Assistant will be committed to work in a team environment with the ability to prioritise your tasks to prepare and provide meals, and delivering outstanding customer services.
- Cleaning within a food services environment that complies with Food Safety Guidelines
- Deliver, distribute and collect meal trays from patients
- Dish washing

About Us:
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. The Food Services team at Dandenong Hospital requires a qualified Food Services Assistant to prepare and provide meals to our patients striving to consistently deliver high quality and efficient services to our patients.
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE0001) – Use hygienic practices for food safety (Issued within the last 6 months)
- Understanding of dietary requirements including texture modified foods/fluids and food allergies
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team.
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a hospitality or health care environment
